The best part of a wedding weekend often happens after the last song: the bride's college roommates still talking by the fire pit, grandparents sitting down to a slow breakfast, and nobody checking the time for the last shuttle. That only happens when everyone sleeps where the party is. This is why more couples are searching for wedding venues with lodging, places where the ceremony, the reception and the beds are on the same property.
Many venues that advertise accommodations really mean a bridal suite or a "preferred hotel" down the highway. In this guide we only list venues where guests can actually stay overnight on site, and wherever the venue publishes it, we tell you how many people that lodging sleeps. We start with Dallas-Fort Worth and North Texas, then cover the Hill Country and other Texas venues that are worth the drive.
How we built this list: every capacity, lodging detail and price below was checked against each venue's own website in October 2026. If a venue doesn't publish a number, we leave it out rather than guess. Confirm details directly before you book.

See The Penrose House Lodging →Why Choose a Wedding Venue with On-Site Lodging?
A venue with accommodations changes how the whole weekend feels. Here is what it actually solves.
- No shuttles, no designated drivers. When guests sleep a short walk from the reception, nobody has to leave early or arrange a ride after the toasts.
- A slower wedding morning. Hair, makeup and getting-ready photos happen where you already are. There's no early drive with a garment bag in the back seat.
- More time together. The rehearsal dinner, the after-party and the next-day brunch can all happen in the same place.
- Simpler logistics. Hotel room blocks come with deadlines, attrition clauses and guests scattered across different properties. On-site lodging keeps your closest people in one spot.
The tradeoff is scale. Venues that let guests stay over usually sleep somewhere between a dozen and a few dozen people, so lodging tends to cover the wedding party and immediate family while other guests book nearby. A few resorts on this list can house far more.
Featured: The Penrose House (Princeton, TX)
Location: Princeton, TX (Collin County) | Guest Capacity: Up to 50 | Lodging: Yes, 7 bedrooms (9 beds) sleeping up to 28 | Style: Private luxury estate
We're biased, but we built The Penrose House for exactly this kind of wedding. It's a gated, private 5-acre estate in Princeton, about 45 minutes from downtown Dallas and an easy drive from Plano, Frisco, McKinney and Allen. You have the whole property for your celebration, with no other events sharing the day. Ceremonies and receptions are designed for up to 50 guests. The 5,000 sq ft main house has seven bedrooms that sleep up to 28 people, so your wedding party and closest family can stay the whole weekend.
- The whole estate is yours: ceremony garden and deck, cocktail patio, resort pool with a swim-up bar, outdoor kitchen and fire pit.
- Built for the after-party: game room, private cinema, pickleball court and mini golf. Overnight guests can use all of it from check-in to checkout.
- Lodging that suits a wedding: most couples take the primary suite and divide the other bedrooms among the wedding party and family. Getting-ready photos happen in the house's naturally lit rooms.
- Packages for different plans: choose a DIY micro wedding weekend where you bring your own vendors, or an all-inclusive micro wedding package that bundles coordination, photography, florals, cake and an overnight stay.
If your guest list is larger than 50, the ranches and resorts below can host bigger receptions, but few give you a private estate of your own.
Best for: Micro weddings, elopements with family and multi-day celebrations, including South Asian weddings, where the whole wedding party wants to stay together.

How to Choose a Wedding Venue with Accommodations
Once you've shortlisted a few venues, these questions will tell you which ones fit your plans.
1. How many people do you actually need to house?
Start with a realistic overnight list: the couple, the wedding party, parents, grandparents and any out-of-state family. For most couples that's 15 to 30 people. Match it to published sleeping capacity, not room count.
2. Is lodging included, or priced separately?
Venues handle this very differently. Some include the house in every package, some include rooms only on full-price dates, and some price cabins separately. Ask which nights are included and whether lodging is guaranteed.
3. Do you get the whole property?
At a hotel or resort, your guests share the grounds with other travelers. At a private estate or ranch rental, the property is yours for the weekend.
4. How far is it from the airport?
On-site lodging makes the trip in a one-time drive, but that drive still matters. North Texas venues let guests fly into DFW or Love Field. Hill Country venues usually mean flying into Austin or San Antonio.
5. What can overnight guests use?
A pool, game room, fire pit or cinema keeps the wedding party entertained on the day before and the morning after. Ask what's open to overnight guests and what's reserved for the event itself.

Frequently Asked Questions About Wedding Venues with Lodging
What is a wedding venue with on-site lodging?
It is a venue where guests can sleep on the same property as the ceremony and reception, in a house, inn rooms, cabins or hotel rooms, instead of booking a separate hotel and taking a shuttle. Some venues house only the couple and wedding party, while resorts can house most of the guest list.
How many guests can usually stay overnight at a Texas wedding venue?
It varies widely. Ranch houses and private estates typically sleep about 12 to 28 people, which covers the wedding party and close family. Cabin resorts and hotels can house far more. The Penrose House sleeps up to 28 guests in seven bedrooms, with up to 50 guests at the celebration.
Are there wedding venues with lodging near Dallas-Fort Worth?
Yes. Options include The Penrose House in Princeton, The Melissa Barn in Melissa, Crescent Moon in Blue Ridge, The Castle at Rockwall, Texican Court in Irving, The Sanford House in Arlington, Hotel Drover in Fort Worth, Diamond A Ranch in Weatherford, The Pearl Ranch in Maypearl and Inn on Lake Granbury.
Is lodging included in the venue price?
It depends on the venue. Some include the house or rooms in every package, some include lodging only on certain dates or packages, and others price cabins separately. Always confirm which nights are included and the check-in and checkout times. For current Penrose House packages, see our pricing page or contact us.
Can we have the rehearsal dinner and next-day brunch at the venue?
At most lodging venues, yes. Because guests are already on site, couples often host a Friday rehearsal dinner, the wedding on Saturday and a Sunday brunch before checkout. At The Penrose House, overnight guests can use the pool, fire pit, game room and cinema throughout their stay.
How far in advance should we book a wedding venue with accommodations?
Popular lodging venues book weekend dates early, especially in spring and fall, because each date ties up both the event space and the rooms. Start reaching out as soon as you have a rough date and guest count, and ask about weekday or off-season dates if you are flexible.
